Similar pages - what the heck??30 Jun 2004 23:18 GMT14
When you do a search on google and it gives you a list of sites...under each
site description is a link that says "Similar Pages".  I was bored today so
I started checking out some of those Similar Pages links.  The list of sites
that were pulled up were NOTHING like the original.
OT:  The controversial $5 setup fee30 Jun 2004 23:10 GMT369
When Charles offered free (yes FREE) hosting with the $5 setup/verification
fee, it caused quite a flame war.  We bought all of those clients from him
awhile back, as most of you know.  I've just dropped the $5 setup fee
yesterday.  So, the free hosting accounts are now free and ...

how to choose web hosting company30 Jun 2004 22:29 GMT34
I am trying to choose a web hosting company, and i really have no idea
how.  I know I can choose based on bandwidth/disk space/price, but what
other factors are there?  I also need MySql/PHP, and it seems to me that
some one can offer all the disk space in the world but if the ...
DNS - Additional domains30 Jun 2004 20:13 GMT8
I recently purchased two additional domains, which I intend to link to my
current webhost. Being a difficult idiot I wanted to setup the DNS settings
rather than using the web forwarder options, this is however quite new to me
(hence I wanna learn).

Bots and bandwidth30 Jun 2004 10:42 GMT8
I noticced bots that come to my site (MSNBot, Googlebot, etc) acounted for .4
GB out of my 20 GB. Is it worth the bandwith to make sure your pages are
indexed up to date?
Also, anyone know of a good page that lists which bots are good and bad?
img .src problem with Firefox 0.930 Jun 2004 10:34 GMT2
I've got a curious problem with a bit of JavaScript and the new 0.9 release of
Firefox. I installed the same version from the same installer at work and at
home - the problem only appears at home.
Basically I'm using some js to set the source and alt text of an image

I'm trying to move a domain name for our club website to a new host
because the previous host slimed us.
The previous host stopped sending out bills, doesn't answer e-mail, and
gave a false FAX number on their website when they announced their immediate

Is this cloaking or against the google TOS?30 Jun 2004 00:26 GMT7
I currently have no cloaking on my site. But recently was checking the
SERPs and noticed my competiton appearing twice for a couple phrases
and they were using two different domains.

Well, I thought I'd just take a last peek in AWW before I tear down the
computer [moving day!] and I'm pretty well sickened by the trash that's
bleeding over from Trollville.
