I?m in my last year of my degree and am considering doing a bit of freelance
web developing (mainly flash but also html) alongside which ever initial jobs I
manage to get when I leave. I currently work on an old 15? 1024*768 pixel LCDs
and frankly I amazed myself I have survived ...

I was browsing around books on amazon and it looks like I could really get some
mx 2004 books cheap on amazon.  Would it be a good idea to save a few bucks and
buy those books instead of getting newer books?

I have tried every way to load a very simple text file into a Flash document
and display it in a textField. Works fine on my machine, when I upload it to
the hosting server (same configuration, same everything) stops working. Please
can someone even tell me what to look at. Out ...

How is it possible to clear the flash cache ? Can you do that by right clicking
over a flash player movie or image and choosing Settings and then moving the
slider bar over to the left side which reduces the storage to 0Kbs

I've just ported a large application to Flash 8 from Flash MX 2004.  Smooth
sailing except for ALL of the components!  Comboboxes show and populate but
wont pull down.  Lists and trees show up as a small rectangle (about 50 pixels)

Is there a way in ActionScript to make a button that when pressed will
email a screen grab of the current flash screen?

stage over the length of the timeline. Do I have to change each frame's X & Y
one by one!!?

I am getting this error when trying to import an .avi file into Flash 8
