I installed IE 5.5 on Win2K/SP4 recently and it blocks popups, utters
a weird sound and won't open the page.
How do I turn popup blocking off?

I do not know where to start looking for a solution to my problem.
Every web page that "seems" to have an embedded movie/animation that
will needs Apple Quicktome "fails" to play. Each and every one shows
up with the Quicktime ? place-holder icon and never plays. I have

IE7 v7.0.5730.11 returns an error from the Capital One credit card
login page! Their techie says everything is OK on their end. Of
course, but he said he put up a trouble ticket. Yeah-sure...

Newbie running: XP SP2, IE7, Office 2000
Recently I used "Windows Install CleanUp."
to removed files from an aborted attempt to install: Office 2003.
Now when I use IE 7 to access my email I receive this error message:

I don't seem to be able to access my newsgroup server with IE7.
Can anyone explain how to set up for newsgroups with Verizon?
I'm not very pc savvy so any help will be appreciated.

In explorer, I inadvertantly dragged the icon of a hard drive from a
networked computer to the local PC. Explorer displays the networked
HDD as if it were a local subfolder. But I know that the files don't
reside locally because it happened too fast for copyig to take place.

i have a number of internet-shortcuts on my desktop.
When i click on one of them, the apropriate web-page will open in a new tab of IE7.
However, i would like the web-pages to oben in a new WINDOW instead.
I suppose that this can be done with some command-line-parameters,
