Can Flash Remoting communicate with a custom Java app?24 Jan 2007 20:50 GMT1
I have written a custom Java app that does NOT run in an web application
server (like JRun). Is there any way to communicate with this app via Flash
Remoting for Java? If not, can it be done WITHOUT Flash Remoting?
Any and all replies are appreciated.

I was just wondering if there is a way to directly connect a Flash program (web
based or not) to a database without a scripting page such as PHP, JAVA, ASP...
I don't think you can, but I would like to be totally sure there isn't a way.

Sorry, for the cross-post, but I know not all Flash developers check the CF
forums and vice versa.  Since the problem applies to both I figured it wouldn't
hurt to try both areas.
I'm getting the following error when trying to connect to a CFC using flash

Hi,
I'm delevoping a flash remoting project using ColdFusion MX7 and Flash 8 Pro.
Just by accident, I had forgotten to start my ColdFusion Application server
and while testing a file I recieved a netConnection.trace error saying that
