I have written a custom Java app that does NOT run in an web application server (like JRun). Is there any way to communicate with this app via Flash Remoting for Java? If not, can it be done WITHOUT Flash Remoting? Any and all replies are appreciated.

I was just wondering if there is a way to directly connect a Flash program (web based or not) to a database without a scripting page such as PHP, JAVA, ASP... I don't think you can, but I would like to be totally sure there isn't a way. Thanks in advance for your help. :confused;
