I use the CF mid function to extract a portion of the data, for example, the first value of the string = "A". What is the corresponding sql command/technique ? I need to use this in the select statement, like select all records with the first character = 'A'.

Is there a way using cf that I can point to different domain names on the same server? Someone types in domain1.com they get domain1 and if they type in doamin2.com they are transported to a subdirectory showing domain2.com

I went through this nightmare a few years ago but after 4 days finally go CF running on my Mac. I was under the impression that new CF MX 7 would be much easier as it came with server and I would not have to deal with installing JRun.

I have a page that takes time to load (spam filter) so I want to tell the user that something is happening but the very end of the page has a cflocation. Since I can't use cfflush with anything that alters the header is this possible or should I find a way to rewrite the page ...
