Sorry if this is not within the guidelines for this n/g but I've searched the list of groups on my
provider's server to find nothing of value, and you guys always seem to have your finger on the
pulse.
I'm looking for a diary for my PC.  Right now I have an old copy of Lotus's Organizer but I want a
slightly different display from the ones it offers.
Can anyone help, please?

Outlook 2007 *shrug*

I don't use Windows computers any more - I use Macs, so I use the built
in Calendar app which works really nicely with my iPhone.

So, of what use was that?

Of what use did you expect a reply to your completely off-topic post in
a newsgroup devoted to webmastering topics?

Not only did SpaceGirl neglect to flame you, she also gave you a
relevant answer (and a half). If you want to use Outlook, then don't.

Welcome to usenet: If you want to be flamed, that can be arranged.

You may have missed that I acknowledged that my enquiry was not the basic stuff of this newsgroup,
that I apologised in advance, that I said I had searched the newsgroups without success, and that,
in lieu of anywhere else,  I had come here for help.
All I got was not even that (half) answer.  If she was unable to help - as she was - why bother to
answer at all?  Was it a slow day down the bordello?

Good bye.

No, I didn't miss that. But apologizing in advance for being OT doesn't
gave you carte blanche to mock the answers you're given, whether you
like them or not.

Do you know any women *at all*? Or don't they have any female guards at
your facility?

Just FTR, I meant, "if you *don't* want to use Outlook, then don't."

All of this could have been skipped by simply
beginning your subject line with "OT:  ".
Then people who did not want to read it would have
had a signal before even punching a button.

That doesn't make it right. I mean, there are plenty of spammers who
apologise in advance.

Also, you just could have used Google.

It answered your question. What was wrong with her answer?

Microsoft Outlook would also be my recommendation (and I do still use
Windows).

Well Outlook (rather than Outlook Express) has a rather good calendar
tool. That's what you asked for? You didn't specify what sort of PC
you were using (Windows or Mac) so I suggested something for both
platforms *and* how well one of them integrates with a particular
mobile device. Jeeze :)

I tried Google Calendar when it first appeared and hated it, but I tried it
again recently, and I've found most of the rough edges have gone, and it
does what I need.

I have not yet discovered if it works offline (haven't needed to), but if
you can manage with online, it's worth a look.
