Was another user running your copy of Agent?  :-)

Seriously, I get that error message if I accidently close Opera, and
then try to re-open it before it's shut down completely -- when Opera
closes, it might have to delete cookies (if you've set it to do so),
deal with the cache, and other such things.

I think I've also had it happen a few times when I tried opening Opera
and it took inordinately long, so I tried opening it again, thinking
that I hadn't actually clicked the icon the first time.

The complete error is:

"another user is running this copy of opera

You should install Opera with the individual profiles to allow
multiple users to run the same copy independently"

OK on  Opera951_10080
NG on Opera952_10089 & 92

Answer:
If you are a single user &
your data storage is NOT in the default C-drive &
you dbbl-click on a 2nd .html page &
Opera's Enable DDE=0,
CAUSES Opera to NOT ALLOW multiple HTML pgs!!!
(exc if you DRAG them onto Opera)
default (not shown in opera6.ini ) is Enable DDE=1.
With Enable DDE=1, this is now working as (I) expect.....
lots-o-fun

It'll also happen iof you run Opera from the quick-launch bar on XP by
double-clicking it instead of single-clicking it.
