That has been fixed, Google groups now automatically quotes the message
from the "reply" link.

Has Google fixed what I would call the "Signature Bug" where it doesn't
trim signatures properly?

I have a recollection suggesting that, in June, only some users saw the
fix. Does anyone not now see it?
