I use IE 6 with Windows 2000 as my operating system.
I have cable connection and for some reason IE is playing up.
When I open IE it takes a long time before it will respond to any thing like
making it full screen using the scroll bar or typing anything into the
search box.
This has just started to happen so I cleared all my internet files cache
file etc to see if that would help.
I ran Norton wincheck and all came up fine.
I thought it must be a ISP problem so I installed Netscape to see how that
worked. No problems with net scape.
Does anyone have any idea's on what the problem might be?
I had the exact same problem. I found this info at Microsoft and
it worked.
Goto IE's tools, internet options, advanced tab, and uncheck "enable third
party browser extensions". you can right click on it for explanation of
what it is. Also, before I figured it out, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox to
surf the net with no problems. Worth a look.

I had the same problem and I too disabled the 3rd party extension. The thing
is, without it, I can't see macromedia flash. And I am unable to determine
which extension was causing the problem. I removed all the installed
programs in the download load folder, but still didn't work.
