Hello to everyone in this group,

I recently had a battle with some spyware (including msbb, bridge, and
others) that infested my pc.  I've pretty much cleaned that stuff out by
running ad-aware and spybot, and also going into my registry and deleting
things like msbb and n-case and 180 solutions ... What a pain.

Anyways, the last thing is that I can no longer connect to the internet
through IE.  I can access my email through Outlook, upload to my websites
using an ftp program, I can even connect to the net with Mozilla.  Just not
IE.  I get the 'page cannot be displayed' error page.  There is one
exception to this, which is that if I am using Corel Fractal Painter 8, and
I select 'help' from the program's menus, it dumps me into IE and takes me
to their help web page no problem.  But it I try to go anywhere from there,
no luck.

I should also say that my homepage was changed by the spyware at the
beginning of this debacle.  At that point, unfortunately, I did not realize
that I'd been screwed by spyware and I changed it back to my normal homepage
without noting what it was changed to.  Sorry if that info would have
helped.

Suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

:)

Thanks Lance,  I ran lsp-fix.  It's report was all zeros as far as entries
removed or renumbered.  I restarted, but unfortunately, the problem was not
solved.  Am I supposed to delete the mswsock, winrnr or rsvpsp dlls?
