WinXP & IE6

No pop-up blockers in place, although I regularly run SpyBot and
"immunize" -
On may websites, after clicking on a link, I just get a plain page with
image placeholder in the upper left hand corner.

For example, on the Audi website, If I try to click on one of the animations
(tour of car's interior, maybe) - nothing happens and the placeholders
appear.

On MS's tablet PC wesite, I can view the primary webpage, however when I
click on "learn more" - same thing.

Any ideas short of re-formatting an reinstalling windows?

Can;t install Macromedia flash player, either.
DL'd the stand alond install version.  Says it is installed, however,
