This problem has bugged me for a long time.

When I pull down "Favorites" from the menu (IE 6 with all
the SPs and upgrades) there is another "Favorites" shown as
a folder in the pulled down menu. I can delete it by several
methods, but next time I open IE, it's there again.

This behavior went away for awhile, but it has now returned.
It doesn't matter how I set the folder options, the return
of the folder in my "Favorites" pull down menu continues.

How can I get rid of it for good?

Hi,
I can delete it by several

Documents and settings,
"Your name or log on name etc"
Favorites
Open this folder and see where it is/delete it.
Have you ever exported/imported your favorites ?
You might have created a favs within favs.
I had the same problem. Need to get rid of
the newly created favs folder, I believe the original
has a  tag or something and gets recreated if deleted
Just a thought

Regards

Hi HAUD,

I deleted all the favs except the one in the All Users part
of Docs & Settings. It won't let me delete that one. The
problem persists.

Can't ever remember importing or exporting favs & never have
knowlingly created a fav within a fav, but that is exactly
what has happened.

This has been the one persistant problem with IE and XP that
I haven't been able to resolve. Frustrating!
