I've just started getting the strangest popup.  I have the Google
search bar with popups blocked.  I'll have an IE window on the
screen, but it's not even the active window and I suddenly get this
box:

"Your Internet Explorer has been upgraded with the latest Search
Toolbar from Web Search.  Do you want to keep it?"

When I click "No" it practically begs you to "keep it", although I
know nothing was really installed yet.

This just started yesterday.  Anyone else seeing this??

Whatever you do...
DO NOT INSTALL IT !!!
It's Spyware and will make your IE shut down
over and over.
Believe me. It happened to me.
Nothing but problems.

I'm not going to install it, but I can't figure out how it pops up
and where it comes from.

Get yourself a free copy of AdAware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ and run it every couple of
days. I bet you'll get over 50 hits the first time you run it. It will
remove all offending spyware programs.

I run it regularly.  I just ran it again and it didn't find a
thing.

Try doing this...
Run SpyBot Search & Destroy:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,22262,00.asp

I think this will do the trick.
It's a free download and has removed tons of crap
from my pc.
At one time, I could not run IE w/o the pop up window,
that an error has occured and needs to shut down.
This was happening almost everytime I clicked on a link in
IE.
Since running the SpyBot it has not happened once.
My pc got screwed up after saying yes to one of those
damn pop up's by accident.
All I know, my time on the pc...could not be any better.
I hope I didn't just 'jinx" myself.
Good Luck and let me know if this was any help.
