last night I clicked on the automatic update when queued (as I usually
do) then went to bed when I restarted the computer. Now I can not
access Internet Explorer - my my internet connection is good (since I
can access this newsgroup) but I cant get on the web. ANyone have
this problem? Perhaps it's just a setting that has to be changed. I
don't have anyther browsers on my computer (Firefox, Netscape) and I
cant download one.
I called the tech support at my service provider, (Optimum Online) but
they couldn't help me - suggested I call Microsoft (Ewwwwe)
I'm no computer wiz, but like most people, I use it most every day -
thanks in advance for any suggestions

of course the heading should read "IE7"
(I held the shift key down)
turned out I solved the problem thanks to checking out these very
informative newsgroups. I uninstalled IE7 and IE6 works just fine.
