O/S  XP Pro SP2  Valid copy.

I tried upgrading to IE7 (from IE6) via the Windows Update. All appeared to
go normal UNTIL I "tried" actually running IE7. It started showing error
messages that said the following....

"The requested lookup key was not found in an active activation context".

There was NO REFERENCE on how/where to troubleshoot this issue! MS left
this user hanging out in the dark. Thanks MS!

That said, I tried to Uninstall IE7 (via Remove Programs menu).

I then go to use IE6 and my PC is STILL getting this error message!!

Weird thing is, when I go to the Help menu in IE6 and click on the About
Internet Explorer, it shows IE7's info!!!!  Now IE7 was removed from this
PC!

Also, now with IE6 my PC will ONLY connect to ONE website!! My IE6 Home
page..... www.msnbc.com

What's going on and how do I fix this ??

TIA

Also, lost the ability to access the internet via URLs from Outlook Express
!

When I click on a URL using OE, I get the SAME error message as I do when
using IE6/7 !  Which again is this--->>

"The requested lookup key was not found in an active activation context".

It does NOT give me any options for Error Reporting or any further
Technical information.

What is this Error message and how do I fix it ??

TIA!

You may have a screwed up install of IE7.
Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs
Removing Windows Internet Explorer 7 returns you to IE6.

"You may have a screwed up install of IE7."

So "horked" no longer works for you?
