Is it possible to put custom buttons for a particular website on the
toolbar? If I want to go to a particular site I'd like to be able to do it
with one click rather than fossick through Favourites.

Thanks for this but unfortunately I'm not familiar with what you're
suggesting I do. You say create a new tab with IE7. I didn't know IE7 had
tabs, let alone how to create one.

What's a backdrop and how do I make a shortcut?

Open IE7 look at the top right bar you will see Tools, click on the small
arrow to its right.
Go to bottom select Internet Options, it should auto open under the general
tab. In the top box type in your web link.........ie http://google.com/.
Click apply or close and them close/reopen IE7. You should now have a new
tab at the top titled G Google.

The backdrop method is easy, using IE find the web page you want, with that
page open, right mouse click on it and select Create Shortcut. This will
produce an Icon on your backdrop which shortcuts you to that site. You may
have to rename it to reduce the title below.

both very easy methods.

Thanks for this. I now realise that some of the terms you've used are not
familiar to me, e.g. backdrop for desktop.

Re method 1, it seems to me that what this does is simply to change the
default homepage. What you are calling a tab is, in fact, the open window.

yes, desktop, sorry

you can add more than 1 link in the box.........put your curser at the end
of the existing link and press Return/Enter........then type a new link. I
think you can add up to 8 links.
