Downgrading from IE7

I have had all sorts of problems since I upgraded to IE7, the worst being
that Outlook slows to a crawl unless I fail to install a couple of Windows
updates.  As far as I can see from the link below, Microsoft had not solved
this problem, which is somewhat unique to folks with a similar configuration
as I have.  See link below from the smart folks at aumha.org
http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?p=151711#151711

Also, communication with my HP all-in-one 7210 machine has become
compromised at about that same time and despite heroic attempts, I still
have some problems printing to it and total inability to scan to it.  It
could be coincidence though I tend to doubt it.

I actually liked IE6 better and never had any security issues of which I am
aware, although I have been parasite free for a long time now, which may or
may not be a coincidence.  I have a router which has its own firewall I am
told, FWIW.

Is it a bad idea to downgrade back to IE6?

Thanks!
