Adsense Search Results not clickable in IE but OK in FF

I am running google adsense with the search results displayed on the website
itself.
When I use the IE browser and click on the search results, nothing happens.

When I hover the mouse pointer over the link, it displays the URL at the
bottom of the browser as normal.

If I right click on the search results links and select "open in new
window", then the correct page does open in the new window.

Another weird thing about it is that links other than the main result link
work OK (the "similar pages", "next page", etc).

However, when I use Firefox, clicking on a search result link works
normally, taking me to the proper page.

Aparently, the problem only happens in some IE browsers. I realize that
changing a setting in IE might fix it for that particular user.

But the general public won't do that and obviously, I want everyone to be
able to access the links.

Here is a link where someone else posted basically the same problem on Sept.
6, 2006 with no solution:

I have searched the web extensively without an answer to this problem.

I would be very greatful if someone that has had this problem and found a
solution could post it here.

I had a related issue some time ago and in fact have it now with IE7. Last
time these fixes worked but not today.
