Newbie running: XP SP2, IE7, Office 2000

Recently I used "Windows Install CleanUp."
to removed files from an aborted attempt to install: Office 2003.

Now when I use IE 7 to access my email I receive this error message:
"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong
version. This could have been
caused by installing other messaging software. Please reinstall"

I could never Install Office 2003 as I did not have the numeric 25 digit key
code. I used "Windows Install CleanUp" to stop from launching Office 2003
setup window, when using IE7 to get my email.

Please note: Outlook 2000, works fine when launched on it own.  I simply
cannot access Outlook 2000 when using my web browser and get the error
message listed above.

How do I make my browser launch Outlook 2000 again?

Thanks,
Mac

Also: When doing a search on my pc for "mapi32.dll" files this is what I
found. Do these files point to the problem?

MAPI32.DLL              C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033

I'm not real knowledgable about this but I believe I had a similar problem
years ago. Download the mapi32.dll c:/windows/32system file and put it into
you c:/windows/32system folder

Recently I used "Windows Install CleanUp."
to removed files from an aborted attempt to install: Office 2003. Office
2003 was not installed, and is NOT in my "add/remove program".

Now when I use IE 7 to access my email I receive this error message:

As previously noted, Office 2003 never installed.

I used "Windows Install CleanUp" to stop IE7 from launching Office 2003
setup window, when trying to access mail.

Now I get the mapi32.dll error message.

Please note: Outlook 2000, works fine when launched on it own.  I only get
the error message
when accessing Outlook 2000 with my web browser

How can I make my browser launch Outlook 2000 again?
