IE7 start up problems

Hi
I installed IE7.  It keeps going to some Microsoft website by default and
then to runonce.msn something or another.
I set the start page to about:blank but it did not change anything.   Also
when ever I go to www.google.com
it keeps changing to www.google.es
which is the Spanish version.  When I change the google preferences it just
resorts back to the Spanish page.

I have run hijackthis and there is nothing I can see that is a problem.  I
have run spybot, ad aware, and trendmicro housecall.  I also have run CA
anti virus.  None of these programs reported a problem.

Anyone have an idea about this

Thanks
banjo

you have not by any chance loaded it on a Win 98 operating system as I
understood it was only for XP, 2000 and Vimto.

otherwise

have you run a Windows update....there are one or two patches for IE7.
