I installed IE7 about a month ago but became frustrated with the verrrry
slow speed compared to IE6.

I then uninstalled IE7 and am now back to good speeds with IE6.

I got a Microsoft notice today that IE7 had a new update available to
download.

Can anyone tell me if this new update has fixed the slowness issue of IE7.
If not I will keep going with IE6.

regards

I have just re-installed IE7 and it is now running just as quick as IE6.

The only thing I have changed since the previous IE7 install is in the
Spybot settings - I have now stopped it from immunizing. This function was
causing havoc with Trend Micro Pc-cillin 2007.

Perhaps this was the reason for the slow IE7 problem previously.

All appears to be well now.

Woops - spoke too soon.

Gone back to IE6.

With IE7 installed Outlook Express started to play up and freeze on-screen.
Then IE7 froze.

I'll wait for IE8

When you went back to IE6, did you download it from Microsoft's Website, or
was it still installed on your PC? I too would like to go back to IE6 on my
notebook PC, but I'd like to learn the appropriate way to go back to IE6 in
order to prevent myself from having problems with the previous release of
IE. When you upgrade to a  new release of IE, does it automatically remove
the previous release of IE? Sorry about the ignorance on my part regarding
this issue. I would really like to learn more about this subject.

I went to Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs and selected
Windows IE7 to uninstall.

This will take you back to IE6

Thank you very much! I wasn't aware that it was that simple to go back. Once
again, I appreciate the instructional advice.
