http prefix problem

hi guys,
anyone know if its possible to disable the http: prefix on ie7
I need to configure a router and need to get to 192.168.2.1 but it comes up
http:192.168.2.1 and not letting me onto the site.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

"not letting me onto the site"? What's the error message? What exactly
did you type into IE's Address Bar?

Try http://192.168.2.1 or even https://192.168.2.1.

I assume your router does provide an HTTP management interface at that
address. Read its documentation. To ascertain whether the router
provides HTTP access, try from acommand line:
 telnet 192.168.2.1 80
 GET

It should produce some HTML output displayed as text in the command
console.
