I wonder if anyone can help me please.  I recently installed the icon that
appeared on my desktop for the latest browser for internet explorer and ever
since then when my computer starts up it dials the internet and then when I
am working it persists in dialling up again how ever many times I stop it.
This has only happened since I installed the browser.  I contacted BT and
they said to go to Tools, Internet, connections and to tick not to dial my
connection, that stops the problem but then when I do want to go onto the
internet it stops me from getting on.  I have used the system restore to a
point before I installed the browser and that has not helped either.  I
would be so grateful for some help please.

Found this :-

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Reset button

on the following site :-

Maybe worth a try.

Thanks for your reply, have tried that but it is still the same, but thanks

Maybe you inadvertently installed a dialer program.  Are you sure it's
not something other than your browser trying to dial-up?

Do you have a good, current anti-virus program installed?  And maybe
anti-spyware, too?

Thank you for your reply, sorry not to reply until now, only just looked at
my messages, been away.  I have solved the problem, found that it had
installed something into the start up folder and removed it from there.
Thanks again.
