When I receive an email with a hyperlink, when I click the link, nothing
happens.  What do I need to do to be able to use hyperlinks that someone
puts in my emails?  This seems like it would be an easy option to find, but
I can't find a setting anywhere.

I was having exactly the same problem like Joe.

Thank you, "Quakechick", you saved the day.   I was getting really
frustrated with it, too.
