Email links open in new window...IE7

When I click on a link in my email program a new window opens up IE7. I
already have IE7 open and I want links from my email to open a new tab NOT a
new window.
I have selected in the Tab settings section 'Open links from other programs
in: A new tab in current window.'. For some reason it is not working. IE7 IS
set as my default browser. I have the Final release of IE7.
Is this a known problem? Is there a fix?

This was reported to Microsoft when I had the beta version of IE7.
I was told it would be corrected in final release.
I have final release and it's still the same.
I suggest using Firefox instead of IE7 - it works much better and is user
friendly.
