So Google auto downloads some updates and I notice all of a sudden that IE
is consuming 50% of my CPU (3.2GHz P4) cycles.
Is it IE or the Google tool bar?

Hey there.  I noticed the Google toolbar running a process called
something like GoogleFah or something a while back.  Either this process
or the one directly under it (in alphabetical order) was absolutely
chewing thru my CPU (3GHz P4) cycles as well - about 50% of available.
I only found it because a mmorpg I play was being interrupted and I went
looking for the cause.  I started cancelling the process whenever I play
my game.  I wondered if it wasn't the shared-network project they do
with the cancer research?  I did have it set pretty high.  Normally,
it's not a problem as my CPU is plenty beefy enough to handle that and
normal everyday operations.  However, anything taxing like a big game
and it has to be killed.  Hope that helps!
