Sorry if I am in the wrong group but I could not find any IE groups on my
ISP's server.

My problem is= HOW to I import Favorites/bookmarks from another source
computer to replace Favorites on the second destination computer lock stock
and barrel without merging the two Favorites in the process. Do I really
have to delete of the old Favorites folders etc on the destination machine
one by one?

I couldn't find any way of deleting or clearing Favorites on the destination
machine or a way of importing bookmarks from another "source" machine to
completely replace, rather than to add to the existing bookmarks on my
"destination" computer.

I am using is IE v.6 on an XP-Sp2 on both machines.

TIA

Use File/Export and Import which gives you a Wizard.

File import/export is fine. I have tried that but it merely adds to the
existing bookmarks on the destination computer. It does not do a clean
import of the bookmarks exported from another computer.

My problem is that I have  done the exporting from computer A to computer B.
I have organized the bookmarks on computer B deleting the duplicated
bookmarks. In other words I have done a thorough spring clean on computer B
and gone to great lengths to organize the bookmarks in a logical fashion.

Now I need to  wipe out the bookmarks on computer A and import the neatly
organized bookmarks from computer B. How do I do this short of deleting all
the bookmarks on computer A one by one before importing the bookmarks from
computer B?

Surely there must be a way of deleting all the bookmarks in one go before
importing a new set of bookmarks from another computer?
