Newbie question re. email pictures

Some newsgroup pictures are all letters, numbers and symbols, no picture at
all. What do I have to do to unscramble them and see the actual picture?

If you look at the file name closely, you'll probably find number like this:
1/2.

That indicates that it is one of two pieces of the file.  You need to
highlight all parts of the file, click the Messages pull-down menu and
select "Combine and Decode".  That will assemble the file and convert it
into it's native format.

This procedure can be used for virtually any file format that posters decide
to split.
