Many websites have nice icons when you save a bookmark or a shortcut - but
on my computer they all change to the generic IE icon after a restart. I
know there should be a way to retain the original icons, but I don't know
how.
Would anybody like to explan?

I did find the solution myself - it is here:

I beilieved there was a way to change something in the registry, but you
actually have to actively add the icon to the shortcut.

You can also keep them by not deleting the temporary internet files. Or by
deleting the other files but not these favicons.
By the way, in the new IE beta 7 the favicons are always kept, I've noticed
until now.
