IE won't go anywhere

I use Internet Explorer 6.

Basically, IE has stopped doing anything.  Links don't wrork; I'll click on
one in the Favorites bar and all I get is "Done" down at the bottom, but the
window stays white.  Same if I type in a URL I know works.

If I move the cursor over main window, all I get is the normal cursor.  Over
the Favorites bar, that little hand pointer.  But if I move the cursor to
one of the toolbars above the main window, I get the "working in background"
cursor.

I usually use Firefox, and that works fine.

I would guess IE needs to be reinstalled.  Can I do that?

IE has a repair option which you should be able to select from the IE entry
in the add/remove programs of Control Panel.

Can you try setting IE to being the default browser!

I had a problem like yours, IE would open when called from a program
(google Desktop) but the page would be blank and it had "Done" at the
bottom!

I reinstalled Google Desktop then set IE to check to see if it's the
default browser.
one i opened IE for the first time i set it to belthe deafult then
Google Desktop worked!
