Hi, I use Win XP, SP2 and latest version of IE with all the
patches and stuff. Zone Alarm 6 and NOD32 for security.
Actually I am surfing with Opera, which is working
without troubles. Recently I realized that Outlook is not
showing external linked images anymore, and now I see
that this is coming from a general connection problem
the Internet Explorer seems to have. When I open it and
enter a websites adress nothing happens. the flag keeps
waving, but nothing appears, neither the website nor
the error message. I connect through a external router
to XDsl. Everything else is workung nicely (im, mail,
opera, firefox), just the IE is like blocked. I ran several
virus tests, trojan and spyware tests, I deactivated all of
the ie's add on's without success. I am running out of
ideas now...

ps.: the animation of the flag in the upper right corner is like
constantly restarting after 2 sec.

I have exactly the same problem with my italian copy of IE6 (fully
updated).

I've tried IEFix (http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm) but it gives me
this error: Run-time error '-2147024770 (8007007e)': Automation error

I've also tried Avant Browser (which I think is based on Internet
Explorer "engine"), and that seems to work fine.

Any solutions? :(

<cut>

Problem solved.

I noticed the problem with IE was causing major problems with MSN
Messenger, too. For example, I was unable even to access the options
menu.

So I have uninstalled and then installed again the latest MSN
Messenger, and the problem with IE was magically fixed.

Hope this works for you.

Sorry for my english

In my case the problem solved itself somehow. I mean, it suddenly
isappeared without me recognizing the prior intervention that led to
this.
