Hello,

after a power crash, on my PC running WinME I cannot load IE6 anymore.
I select the icon and simply nothing happens.

I do not have the CD with IE6 as I had 5.5 preinstalled and then made
the upgrade from WindowsUpdate Microsoft site.

Is there anything I can do to recover its functionality?
Or shall I reinstall it? But in this case where to download the program
to install?

Thanks :-)
Kind regards

I have the same challenge with IE not starting after clicking on the icon.
You can download the program from www.download.com.  I am unable to
re-install the program myself and am now using Opera since it is free.  You
need IE to do windows updates, though, so if you get yours working please
let me know how you did it.

Hi,

no way to reinstall IE for me.
However I had the following suggestion and worked for me. I have ME
installed and do not know whether OS makes the difference. However ....

Try System Restore:

1. Click the Start button.

2. Point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and
then click System Restore.

3. Choose Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.

4. Click a day on the calendar, click the restore point description,
and then click Next.

5. Make sure you have closed all your files and open programs, and then
click OK to close the dialog box.

6. Click Next.

Kind regards,
Pighif
