My internet connection is going bonkers.  I can still connect with most
websites, but I've lost Hotmail and a few others (I even lost Google for a
while, but it came back after one of the many tweaks).  They either time out
or it says the website isn't available now.  I've run McAfee ViruScan,
Spybot and Ad-Aware (all updated).  I've uninstalled and reinstalled
Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express 6.  I don't know what else to do.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Try this
1) locate the host file on your computer
2) open it in a text editor
3) is the website you are blocked from accessing on the list?
4) if so detect it from the list

The use of the host file is a way of  fooling your computer into NOT
accepting adverts from web sites.  Virus writers have now adopted this
technique to block sites that might help you get rid of the virus.
