Recently, my IE6 has decided to not open when I try to start the browser.
This has been going on for several days now, and is getting irritating. I
have tried to 'uninstall', but it only tries to 'repair'. I have downloaded
and reinstalled the browser from the Microsoft web site, but same problem.
Not sure where to go next. I have SP1 and SP2 installed, but I don't think
that the problem started when either one of these were installed. Not sure
what else to do. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry that I have no suggestions to offer, but I wonder if you would
help me. I'm having a problem with IE also, and would like to reinstall. How
did you d/l and reinstall the browser from the MS website if you can't open
IE? I can open IE, but can not connect to the internet (although Outlook
Express and my other programs can).
I'd appreciate if you can help - Mike

Hello,
I have same problem, I cannot open IE. No error message, but simply it
doesn't open. It began after a power crash, so I guess something was
damaged.
I can access Microsoft site from another PC, but do not know which is
the file to download.
Thank you.

If you get an answer, please let me know because I'm having the same
problem. When you try to shut down your computer, do you also discover
that there are several IE's trying to run in the background that must be
closed b/4 you can shut down?

Hi,
I had the suggestion that follows and worked for me. I have ME
installed and I do not know whether operating system makes the
difference. However ....
Try System Restore:
1. Click the Start button.
2. Point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and
then click System Restore.
3. Choose Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.
4. Click a day on the calendar, click the restore point description,
and then click Next.
5. Make sure you have closed all your files and open programs, and then
click OK to close the dialog box.
6. Click Next.
Ciao
