This is driving me mad!

Here is what I have:
IE 6
Windows 2000 pro
Compaq presario laptop pIII

This just started happeing a few days ago. When I surf with IE , I can go
from site to site, but then with no warning, I click some link, (and these
are all regular sites, compusa, msn, ebay, circuit city, etc) and the
browser just shuts down and I have to relaunch.

I thought it may be pop up protection related, so first exited, then
uninstalled stopzilla, that did not help.

Any ideas, help, thoughts, or any one else experiencing this?

TIA
Diane

run your antivirus / antispyware utils after updating them.
Look in your event logs for any additional clues
Does the Send MS a report pop up?
