I have 3 better web browsers that I use and IE6 is a load of crap. How can I
change so that clicking on  a link will open a web page in one of my other
browsers (Avant, Ace & Firefox)

Cheers

Dave,

You have to change the default browser to the one you want to open
automatically when you hit links. Usually you're asked during
installation if you want to make the browser you're installing the
default browser on your system; one option would be to reinstall.

But every time you start Firefox it should ask if you want to use it
as your default, unless you've told it not to ask you that any more.

You can open the Firefox Options window, click "General" and "Check
now."

Can't comment on the other browsers. Aside from that, you didn't
mention your platform or OS, but I found this for Win XP:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultbrowser.htm

Whatever you do, the next time you open IE it will complain that it
isn't the default browser and ask if you want to make it the default
again. You can tell it no, and I believer you can tell it not to ask
again either.

I tried Firefox for a while - even bought the CD and book just to
support the cause - but I regularly use too many sites that don't
support it. Too much Borgware on servers out there.

Cheers,
