All of sudden, IE no longer works on my XP system.
When I go to google.com (e.g), I get a "page cannot
be displayed" error.

In the line below the window, I notice the following
address:  http://mysearch.myway.com .

I suspect that something has caused all addresses to
be redirected to another location.

As I recall, this is a well-known problem.  I do not
remember how to remedy it.

Can someone explain how to fix this?

If you need more information, please let me know.

I have already tried deleting all Internet Temp files
and cookies, setting security to medium, setting
privacy to low, and setting "advanced" to deafaults.

Someone has suggested that the next step is to disable
the firewall.  I am not willing to take that risk.

I have looked at the TCP/IP config.  It appears to be
the same as when things used to work.

Moreover, the same symptoms appear when I use IE over
a dial-up connection to AOL.

Actually, the error might be "unable to connect to server".
I see that someone else posted a similar inquiry about
that error a couple days ago.  Honestly, I do not remember.
I am using a different computer for obvious reasons.
