I have xp pro with sp2.  On certain webpages, I can't go to the previous
page.  One of them is for the mls service (house search).  I get a list of
homes....click on one home and then when I click the back button (on the
back button on the page) I get a blank page with the "can not connect to
this webpage"...it suggests fixing connections settings like "auto detect
settings".  I have tried that as well as lowering all security and allowing
all java and scripting.  What is funny is that this is a dual boot machine
and the other boot works fine.  I have tried matching settings to no
avail.....also tried firefox and netscape but they don't appear to work
properly  (no drop down boxes).

I also tried system file checker and reinstalling sp2.  I have run out of
ideas unless there is a way to repair ie6/sp2.

If this has happened only recently what happens if you try a restore
point back to a time prior to this issue? Otherwise perhaps an Windows
XP repair installation might be in order......
