I have no clue as to how these "modifications" were made to my IE Homepage, but
I have two, apparently separate issues, that I need help in correcting.
First, if I right-click on my any of my toolbars at the top, a window drops down
with the following choices:
Standard Buttons
Address Bar
Links
Google
Norton Internet Security
Norton AntiVirus
bigwebportal.com Bar
Lock the Toolbars
Customize
with the Standard Buttons, Address Bar, Google, bigwebportal.com Bar, and Lock
the Toolbars all checked.
Somehow, the Google toolbar and the bigwebportal.com Bar have become reversed
such that if I uncheck the Google, the bigwebportal.com Bar disappears and vice
versa. I don't know how the bigwebportal.com toolbar got there in the first
place, but I can't seem to reset my preferences. I have already set Google to be
my primary search engine, but that doesn't correct the problem.
Second, I have tried to set Tools>Internet Options>HomePage Address to my
desired Homepage < http://my.msn.com/*** > but it wants to revert to <
http://www.vroomsearch.com/ >. I have no idea what this site is or how it got
there, but it seems to have messed up the toolbar situation. If I open my normal
startup page and then hit "Home", the < http://www.vroomsearch.com/ > opens! Any
suggestions on how to fix this mess? Thanks!

You may have a browser hijacker. Try "adaware" and "spybot" and google on
browser hijacking. I had one I couldn't get rid of. I ended up reformating
my hard drive and reinstalling to get my browser back.
