Sorry if this is posted to the wrong group. However feel free to redirect
me.
1] How can I know which version of Java or Active X is properly installed?
2] How can I know it is running properly, if the (low) security permissions
on Trusted Sites I've granted under Tools/Options cannot be recognized by
the AntiVirus download site?
3] How can I know which Java or ActiveX file is causing difficulty?
4] How can I know if the 60 OCX files currently residing on my computer, are
essential and in good order [or corrupted]  if I do not have an Antivirus
program up and running
and no working ActiveX file recognitions are functioning in IE6.0? You see,
no onsite antivirus check is possible.
Thanks in advance,

Sorry I do not know the answers to all your questions, but I had a similar
issue with McAfee - which could not work with Internet Zone set to "High" no
matter what I put in the Trusted Zone. Seemed to be an issue specifically
with McAfee VirusScan v8 - so I finally just gave up after over a month of
trying to get it to work. McAfee indicated that Internet Zone must not be
set to High because their software requires ActiveX. Norton doesn't.
