I'm getting annoying pop-ups and the pop-up blocker won't stop them.

I tried to clean my registry using "Easy Cleaner 2.0", I tried removing
spyware with "Ad-Aware SE 1.05" (latest definitions).

These are not the regular kind of pop-ups, but they are equally as annoying.
They open a new full screen window, they do not have any graphics, just a
short text message like

"sendExternalEvent('EVENT:IEBROWSER:z1.adserver.com/w/cp.x;rid=52;tid=2;ev=1
;dt=3;ac=29;c=48'); "

or

"sendExternalEvent('EVENT:IEBROWSER:www.a-d-w-a-r-e.com/cgi-bin/PopupV2?ID={
C6E0A4DE-3CCD-44D0-B50D-35C549CA0161}&bidid=29'); "

You may want to try both Spybot-Search & Destroy and Trojan Guarder. Both
are free downloads from download.com. It sounds like your brower has been
hijacked.

IE sp2 does not block all types of  'bad' pop-ups.  There may be absolutely
nothing 'wrong' with your computer.  Ad code writers are aware of the
pop-ups IE sp2 can't block and are putting that info to use.
