Hi
MSIE is not my default browser but I need to place an Internet
Explorer shortcut to a website on my desktop and have forgotten the
syntax. Can anyone please assist.

That wont work for me as my default browser is Mozilla. If I do
as you suggest, I end up with another Mozilla shortcut. I need to define
that the shortcut will operate with IE. My bank dont support anything
but IE so I have no choice.

Ok I figured out a solution

create a shortcut for IExplore.exe

right click on the shortcut and go to properties

enter

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"  www.yahoo.com

for the target

and the directory for the start in

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer"
Substitute your web site for Yahoo.com

Would have been easier to right click the shortcut and click "Open With..."
and change the association to IE.

that would have changed it for all.  His problem was that he uses Mozilla
99% of the time.  His bank requires IE only so he needed a way to have a
shortcut that worked to open a page in IE but not mess up his other web
browser.

On my machine the shortcut has no open with option?
