I have IE 6.0 and for some reason I can not save any images in JPEG format.
Anytime I try to save an image off of the web it only will let me save it as
a bitmap image. In the "save as type" drop down menu it only offers bitmap
images also. I have read everything I can in the help topics and can't find
a fix for this. Can anyone help me? I am having the same problem in Outlook
also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
JS
try this
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;260650&Product=ie600
also if you have a high speed connection it is best to keep your cache size
small
open IE tools internet options settings set the number to less than 10 and
every visit to page is checked!
also under advanced go to the bottom and make sure empty temporary
internet file folder when browser is closed

Wayne,
thank you very much for the link. That did in fact solve my problem. BTW,
what size internet cache would you recommend? I do have broadband.
Thanks again.

I have a similar problem. I have two drop down choices, .jpg or .bmp. However,
the file name displayed is *.jpe and that is what is saved even though the drop
down says *.jpg and I use 'Save Picture As' or 'Save Target As'. I reset my
internet cache to 5 and cleared the saving encrypted pages to cache. Problem is
still there. I had this problem in IE 5.x also.
