Okay, I'm just going to RANT for a second because I can't for the life of me
figure out why Adobe hasn't bothered changing the stupid color picker for the
document background in Flash. You can't even add a hex color! Come on, Adobe! I
expected crap from Macromedia because their UI designs were always flawed, but
how come such a basic tool can't be fixed??? You've owned the product for two
versions now. Give up some of the "wow" tools to just get some of the basics
fixed for a change!

Okay, I'm done screaming. Maybe I need to learn yoga to calm down or something.

Theoretically you could hand-make a color palette with "add to swatches" from
the Color palette, and save it out as a .clr (flash color set). But yeah it's
odd how some "designer" features are rooted in 2002...

Well in my Flash 8 version I can enter any value I like...

Okay. Work Flash 8 on Windows I can type any value I want.

Flash CS3 and CS4 at home on a Mac I can also type any value I want. So I'm not sure what the problem is.

Maybe it's just not as obvious as it could be?  For a long time I thought the
same thing, that I was limited to only the colors they show.  Maybe if the menu
offered a more prominent "Select below or define your own hex value: " heading
it would be more noticeable... or maybe if it offered the same pickable
elements as the main Color tool interface?
