Wimpy Player worked perfectly with Flash 9 but does function at all with Flash
10. Their customer support is horribly unresponsive. Does anyone know why this
might be happening?

Here is an example video:

Thanks in advance.

So you just overwrote the swf & javascript files with the new ones or
was there more to the process? When I attempt this, my videos still
fail to show.

Thanks

Hey, I was able to get this to work on my site today.  The weird thing was
that I didn't even have a wimpy.js file on my site yet it was still working,
until I upgraded to flash10 of course.  Anyway, I just popped on the new
wimpy.js (don't forget to edit the url in this file to reflect your site ex.
"http://www.yoursite.com/mp3s/wimpy.swf" instead of just "wimpy.swf").  Once
I did this, my wimpy player came back up.  The only problem now is that I
have a little "DEMO" icon at the top that I can't get rid of so if anyone
figures that out, please let me know.

I hope this helps!!!

Hi Bill.
Could you be more specific. I followed the links and ended up at the
wimpy starting page. Any help very much appreciated.

Hey, I've been playing around with the rave player download from the
wimpy website.

This is not a finished fix yet! but if you could give it a go, and let
me know how you get on.
If you download http://www.wimpyplayer.com/resources/downloader.php?p=wimpy_rave.zip
Extract the folder and the re upload the rave.swf rave.php and rave.js
(Edit theses before to put in you registration details).
If you try uploading these files to the current player you have.
This is as far as I currently have got with this fix. I cant work out
how to remove the DEMO stamp from the top of the player.

Give it a go and tell me if this works.

Chris:
I've redone my rave player from scratch, including downloading it
again. Since I paid for a new license Nov 14, I cannot figure out why
I'm getting "demo" and "expired" on the player. And yes, I've emptied
the cache a million times.
I'm sooooo frustrated. I also emailed and left a voice mail at Plaino.
SWe know how much that will do!

I had this problem with Wasp.

I downloaded the latest version, edited wasp.js to put my license code
in and uploaded the new version of wasp.js and wasp.swf

Voila - all working again - no need to recreate the Wimpy code in
Wimpy Publisher, just upload these two files.

I can't understand why there isn't a fix on the website though.

as far as RAVE, the latest update gets the same "Click to Upgrade
Flash" error. The most I could find out is that Adobe is having issues
with the original FLASH team, or vice-versa.  One's all about Open
Source- the other will not release any info on any proprietary
programming.
No one really knows whats going on, and isnt it obvious... I hope it
works out someday. In the meantime, my $40 didnt last as long as
wanted.

Is there any fix for rave yet?

I second that.  Please let me know when there is a fix for Rave
Wimpyplayer.  I had no idea others were having this problem and the
person who created the software, Mike Gieson,  is no where to be found
in any of the three cities that are listed by his name: San Diego,
Seattle and some town in the south.

I'd really like to know what the hell is going on too. No response
from support here. This sucks, that's why i'll always support piracy.
If I didn't pay for it, I wouldn't feel soo bad.

Well here is the good news. We may not be without recourse:
Flash Player Lawsuit It
looks like it is just getting started, so make sure to get over there
and tell everyone about it. Let's not let them get away with it!!

Excellent. I've been searching and emailing the FAKE Wimpy customer
support for weeks.
I've NEVER received a reply.

We have a great solution (alternative wimpy mp3 player). We have a very
good fix which works perfectly as your previous one. you doesnt need
to do changes in coding. It hardly take 3 minutes of your time and
some cost. This is a permanent fix you will not problems in future for
sure. Also it will work with all internet browsers includes(IE,
Firefox, opera, Safari.....etc) and all versions of flash. No need to
pay wimpy hereafter.
