Hi Folks, I've just been tasked to get Flash to talk to a DLL, The Flash
application is released as a projector and does NOT run in a browser. I'm
puzzled how I can get the DLL to talk to my flash application. I've seen I can
call the DLL functions with some Javascript, however I also comms the otherway
around. The DLL I'm talking to monitors some buttons, when a button state
changes it posts a Windows message which contains the details of which button
and the status (pressed, released etc). I need somehow to get that Windows
message into a Flash application.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Regards

Flash Can't, but you can create a VB or C++ shell for your flash then
use ExternalInterface to communicate with the shell, the shell
communicates with the DLL  I believe the functionality in Flash 8 was
called fsCommand.   Then there is something called "FlashJester" I
have seen in these groups a while back that is more or less a pre-
built shell that does the same thing.
