so i'm trying to make a movie with sprites i made in PAINT, then i drag and
drop them into Flash and when i put the gun over the body, it does a white box
around it, like in paint how you can turn that off, i can't in turn off that
white box around the sprite part with the flick of a button.
PLEASE help me, i want to make this war movie!! :P

You must have saved it as a Bitmap(.bmp) from Paint.  Open up your file again
in Paint and Save As a PNG or GIF file.  Then import it back into Flash.
Bitmaps don't have transparency in the images.  They're just like JPEG's.

i saved them as PNG's to start with, any other ideas that may work?

This gets asked about once a day for...years :)

open the bitmaps in something like Photoshop and remove the background -
save as PNG-24 with transparency.

Import into flash.

Also - try a more descriptive subject title - this isn't about making a
movie but rather something like "How to retain transparency in bitmaps" or
similar - that way it is easier for those in the future to search and find
the answer - and also better for those of us who dont have time to read
every new post but tend to skim the sunjoects for topics we are familiar
with.

Hope you work this out - it's pretty simple - let us know :)
