video export compression

hi. i am trying to export an avi video from flash with compression. i have been
told to use a divx codec to compress the video. i have downloaded this but when
i go to export the video i dont get the option to use the divx compressor. can
anyone help?

You don't get such option because there is no such. Perhaps the person was asking you
to deliver DIVX as a final product. Meaning, export from flash to avi then use other
video editing tools to convert that avi to divx.
