I just bought flash 8 and i installed it and opened it but im not sure exactly how to start. i want to get pretty advanced but i just want to start with simple game making or something like that. i already have gotten very good at photoshop so i wont need help with graphics. if someone would please explain how i would go about starting that would be great. Go to the Help Menu. Look at "Getting Started In Flash". That's an excellent way to get started. There are numerous well-done tutorials. Then go find a book for beginning Flash users. Don't think you can start right away with "simple game making". You must start by learning all the tools, and then learning basic Action Script. These can all be learned in a book such as the Visual Quickstart Guide to Flash (if you can find an old copy for Flash 8). If you're diligent and go through ALL the lessons in such a book (don't skip any), then in about 4 to 6 weeks you'll be ready to start making simple games. At that point you'll know enough that you can search online for suitable tutorials. |
