Hello,

I am attempting to create an effect where a heart meter dot moves across the
screen and then at the end the "dot" has to turn into this shape that is
essentially the same as if someone took a pen and just scribbled circles.

Now the ECG was easy, I just used a thin rectangle to mask my picture in the
background. Its super simple and has a nice effect. The problem starts when I
have to mask the scribble. I used a motion guide with a mask but this time the
shape was a small circle. This part just looked horrible. Anyone know of a
better way to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,

You could try doing the circle scribbles frame-by-frame?  Copy one circle over
10-20 frames and then use the Eraser tool to "draw" in the stroke gradually
over the frames.  It's a bit of work but you'll have more control over your
animation than you would with a mask and motion guide.

If you want to save time you could copy the frames of your animation into a
movieclip symbol and use instances of it on the stage.  The movieclips could be
rotated and or scaled up or down for randomness and placed in the timeline at
different entry points to help with the sequencing.

Hope that helps.
